A
picture from Ruth's 80th birthday celebration
A special evening honoring Ruth was put together by her friends at the Grove
Park Inn in Asheville, NC.
The Lamb's players performed "Footprints of a Pilgrim" a reader's
theatre production adapted from Ruth's poetry
and journals
by Robert and Debra Smyth of the Lamb's Players (who also performed that
evening). Almost all
of the dramatic elements heard in in Ruth Bell Graham, A Pilgrim Journey
were adapted from this
production.
Even musicians Jeff Johnson, John Fitzpatrick, Brian Dunning and Tim Ellis
(the artists who wrote and recorded much
of the score heard in Pilgrim Journey) were on hand to perform. As you might
remember, Ruth doesn't like to hear
or talk about herself, but because she's a good sport, and because whe was
bribed ( the evening was a benefit for the
children's wing at Memorial Mission Hospital - a cause important to her)
"a good time was had by all", even Ruth.

figuratively), and Andie MacDowell
